Wood-processing Department
Has been operating since 2005. The saw mill equipment was purchased for the means donated by the Chelyabinsk Catholic Church.
Our Center still maintains close friendly relationship with this Church.
Our first serious work order was one from a local bakery for producing bread pallets.
We have signed an agreement with a company to produce wooden items. We also prepare firewood and other wood products.
Those who work in this department obtain good physical shape and professional skills.
Agricultural Department:
Has been in the Center for about 7 years and includes a farm, green houses and a garden. This department grew very slowly because of financial difficulties.
In January of 2007, the farm had only two cows and a few rabbits which is nearly nothing for a center housing about a hundred people. Nonetheless, in December 2008, we had 4 cows and 2 bulls and better milk yields. Selling milk and meat allowed us to buy a milker which facilitates the work and helps increase productivity.
Also, there are about 20 pigs at a farm.
So far, almost all the income from selling meat and milk goes for development and covering the needs of the department. We have been able to repair the farm and made metal cages.
The agricultural department has 6 staff workers involved. Our plan is to increase the number of cattle to 10-15 head. However, despite we have a shortage of financial means, the workers of this department aspire to development and expansion of the farm.
Supply Department
The primary goal is to provide the organization with foodstuff. The rehabilitation program is free of charge in our Center but food is supposed to be there every day.
Therefore, the supply department workers search for people who are ready to unconditionally help our Center with groceries, finance and construction materials. The task of our supply office workers is to find the right approach to those who can help,
give the necessary information about our work and to do their best to get companies and individuals interested to help in the work of freeing people from fatal addiction. It is worth noting that even at this hard time there are kind and compassionate people who are ready to take part in the struggle to save people.
However, we do have certain difficulties since not everyone wants to help drug addicts and alcoholics to become free. Many disbelieve in the efficiency of our work and openly express their negative thoughts on this account. Therefore, the main traits of supply workers are a strong character and confidence in what they do.
Car Repair:
Its workers are the patients on rehabilitation who have the pertaining skills and abilities. They work under the guidance of the organization employee who is in charge of car repair shop operation. The department services and repairs cars and trucks owned our organization and employees. This all allows the center to save considerable financial assets.
Adaptation Department:
The experience of our organization in social rehabilitation of chemical dependent people has revealed some problems connected with adaptation of these people to society. Having completed a social rehabilitation course, people have a fear of society. They are not ready to return to society. Our desire is to help them cope with this problem.
We plan to arrange a vocational training program that would allow former alcohol and drug addicts to obtain labor skills.
We are working in two directions so far:
- Construction and repair crew
- Polythene recycling
We desire to give these people a chance to receive the knowledge and skills necessary for socially active life.
